Entering Basic Stats is an option that is offered when entering your scorecards in to our system. You can enter/analyse information such as: Nos of Putts, Fairways Hit, Greens hit In Regulation, Sand Saves and Up 'n Downs..
As you will see on the graph below not all fields on Sand Saves (SS) or Up 'n Downs (U&D) have entries in them, it's only necessary to enter a 'Yes' or 'No' to indicate whether an attempt was made and, if so, whether it was successful or not . SS's and U&D's are very similar in that both shots are played from around the green (assuming that the approach shot missed the green) and the sand shot or chip resulted the player being able to hole the subsequent putt i.e. the Putt entry should be '1'. On the Pro Tour they only include SS or U&D's that save their Par, but this is far too stringent for the Amateur golfer so we'd suggest either recording all SS's and U&D attempts, even if it's not to save Par. You may, if you choose to, record SS and U&D's when trying to save Net Pars. Whichever method you choose, apply it consistently to all your card entries

FAIRWAYS HIT: only mark a 'tick' in this box if your ball landed on the fairway, otherwise leave it blank.
PENALTY: enter the number of penalty shots incurred on each hole e.g. if you take a penalty drop for going into a water hazard then mark '1' in the box
SAND SAVES: only use this if you end up in a greenside bunker, if you manage to get up and down with one put enter 'y' if you take 2+ plus putts enter 'n'
UP and DOWN: If you miss the green with your approach shot then enter 'y' if you manage to chip and putt or enter 'n' if you don't get down with a chip and putt |
